Joey Porter Jr Misses Cowboys Game Due to Illness

ARLINGTON, Texas — Joey Porter Jr.’s debut at home was postponed as he was ruled out of Thursday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to an illness. The Dallas Cowboys announced his absence roughly an hour and 45 minutes before the game was scheduled to start at 8:15 p.m. ET. Porter had arrived at the stadium but after being examined by medical staff, it was decided he was too sick to play. Following this, he left the stadium.

The Cowboys suffered a setback without Porter, losing to the Buccaneers 24-16. Coach Brian Schottenheimer shared details in the post-game interview, noting, ‘Unique thing, came to the stadium and he wasn’t feeling very well,’ and elaborated that Porter’s condition worsened despite treatment, leading to the decision to rule him out of the game.
